How to Remove Tea Stains from Carpet

Isn't it the worst thing when you start your day with a hot cup of tea and banana bread while scrolling your Instagram, and suddenly, disaster strikes. The balance goes out, and your cup swings to the side. It feels like you are hit by bad luck for the rest of the day, and nothing will go your way now.

Your Luton based carpet cleaners understand the frustration one would experience when they spill tea by themselves or someone else flips a cup. You must wonder if these horrid stains will ever come out. If you have been there, you have the right platform where we will assist you in removing all traces of tea or coffee from your carpet. The process is super easy and takes very little time.

Method 1

In this method, you will need a few microfiber cloths to dab the area dry. Secondly, you will need warm water, vinegar, dishwashing liquid, and a spray bottle.

In the spray bottle, make a solution of warm water, vinegar, and dishwashing liquid. After squeezing the excess tea with the help of paper towels, use the spray to sprinkle the solution onto the stained surface gradually. Allow the carpet to absorb the handmade liquid and show effect. The liquid will quickly absorb all the tea, and you will witness the rug beginning to show its original color. Use a microfiber cloth to dab the carpet and collect the excess liquid gently. Make sure that you work around the stained fibers only and do not use the paper towel on the clean fibers as this may stain the pristine areas of the carpet.

Method 2

All you need in this step is baking soda, vinegar and cold water.

Pour the cold water onto the stain in small portions so that the tea inside the carpet dilutes and come out of the soft fibers. Then, take a good lump of baking soda and pour it onto the stained surface. Remember that you need to cover the whole area with a thick layer of baking soda, so you need to be generous. Allow this to rest for about six hours or ideally overnight so that baking soda can react with the stain and make the tea ooze out of your rug.

In the morning, clean the carpet with a vacuum, and voila! It is as good as new.

Method 3

Although using a commercial product for carpet cleaning may be rare for erasing tea stains, it can be helpful if the stain is very old. The tea has absorbed deep in the carpet fibers, making it almost impossible to clean with baking soda or vinegar.

In such cases, you will need a store-bought solution with harmful acids. Due to this reason, it is always recommended to test out the product on one corner of the carpet to ensure that it will work effectively. Once the product passes the trial stage and does not damage the rug, you can now use it on the stain.

Make sure that you read the instructions carefully that are written on the product before using it. This will help you to avoid any potential consequences and use it safely. Moreover, always keep such commercial cleansers away from the reach of children, as they can be extremely dangerous if they accidentally ingest or inhale them.
